This one (1) credit course is offered in partnership with Lindenwood University Athletics. Designed to connect sport management theory to practice, the purpose of the course is to provide students with an introductory understanding of the inner workings of the business of college athletics through class lecture and experiential opportunities within Lindenwood’s Athletics Department. The course will examine career opportunities within college athletics and provide students with a comprehension of the role, purpose, and operation of the various functional areas of an athletics department. Students will have the opportunity to concurrently apply the knowledge gained through experiential work opportunities with the athletics department during the duration of the course. Students will be expected to attend classes as well as schedule availability for experiential learning opportunities throughout the semester. Prerequisite: SPMGT 27020 .
