Catalog description
This course explores the principles and practices of civic engagement and volunteer management within nonprofit, public, and civil society organizations. Students will examine the history and impact of collective action and social movements, learn strategies for recruiting and retaining volunteers, and develop practical skills for managing civil society programs. The course emphasizes ethical considerations, diversity, and real-world applications through case studies and hands-on projects. Prerequisite: ENGL 17000 ; HIST 15500 , PS 15500 , or PS 15600 .
