Catalog description

This course provides an historical overview and current status of health care organization, delivery and finance in the United States. The distribution of and access to medical care and public health services are explored within current political, economic, and social contexts. The role of public and private insurance in the delivery of health care is examined. The role and impacts of politics and advocacy on health policy is discussed. Prerequisite: HFS 30000 or PHS 20000 with a C or better.
