Catalog description

This course will teach the unique and specific pathophysiology, assessment and management of patients with traumatic injuries. Students will learn to assess and manage bleeding and shock, thoracic trauma, abdominal trauma, genitourinary trauma, orthopedic trauma, soft tissue trauma, head, face and neck trauma, spinal trauma, nervous system trauma, burns, environmental emergencies, multi-system trauma and trauma in special populations. Prerequisite: Admission to paramedic cohort. Paramedic Program Director approval.
