Catalog description
This course provides an immersive, high-fidelity simulation experience allowing students to synthesize and apply their accumulated nursing knowledge and skills. Through advanced patient simulations, and scenarios across diverse healthcare settings, students will manage complex simulated patient encounters requiring comprehensive assessment, critical thinking, and evidence-based practice. Each simulation is followed by structured debriefing promoting deeper learning, interprofessional collaboration, and enhanced communication abilities. Advanced topics in pharmacology, pathophysiology, health promotion, and disease management are explored, considering ethical, legal, and cultural implications. Students apply theoretical concepts in a safe environment, developing clinical competence and confidence. The course culminates in a comprehensive simulation integrating the full scope of nursing knowledge and skills, preparing students for the transition to professional practice.
