Professional Nursing Care of Adults I

Catalog description
This course advances students’ development into the clinical role of the professional nurse. This course focuses on the nursing care management of adults with common or chronic diseases/illnesses. Integration of the nursing process with the clinical judgment measurement model is used to gather and analyze patient data, prioritize patient needs, consider potential interventions, and make informed decisions that promote positive patient outcomes. Emphasis is placed on health promotion, risk reduction, preventing disease progression, and developing comprehensive plans of care. Prerequisite: Admission to Nursing Program.
