Catalog description

Health assessment and physical examination integrate theoretical knowledge and interpersonal skills to serve as the foundation of the nursing process. This course prepares baccalaureate nursing students to utilize the principles of comprehensive health assessment, physical examination, and wellness promotion in the holistic patient care of individuals and families throughout the developmental stages across the life span. Students apply communication, relationship building, interviewing, gathering of subjective and objective patient data, and documentation. Prerequisite: Admission to Nursing Program.
