Catalog description

This course offers a broad overview of instrumental literature of the 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries as applicable to the solo instrumentalist, as well as the study of the nuances of teaching private lessons, error detection and correction, and the historic traditions of teaching instrumental technique as applied to the emphasis of the student. Includes clinical practice. Prerequisite: Junior standing; concurrent enrollment in private lessons. Corequisite: MUS 104XX , MUS 204XX , MUS 304XX , or MUS 404XX .
