Catalog description

The United States remains a nation of peoples from different races, ethnic groups, and nationalities whose cultural backgrounds and American responses to them have shaped the nation’s history and culture. The course will focus on the role and experiences of African-Americans, American Indians, Hispanics, immigrants, and Asians to gain a greater understanding of the ideas, traditions, and events that have shaped the ways people of different backgrounds live in America. Prerequisite: ENGL 17000 with a C or better; junior standing.
