GE-Human Culture: World History/Human Diversity Many people think they know what the Middle East is like, but the truth is often far more interesting and surprising than the stereotypes! In this course, you will explore the major developments that shaped the Middle East and the daily lives of the people who call it home. Reading a variety of sources from the Middle East and interpreting them against popular representations of the region in world media will strengthen your critical thinking skills and make you a more thoughtful observer of the Middle East as well as a more responsible global citizen. Prerequisite: ENGL 15000 with a C or better.
