This immersive on-ground summer residency is a pivotal component of the EdD program, designed to support doctoral candidates in advancing their dissertation research through focused work on methodology, data collection strategies, and preliminary data analysis. Through a blend of faculty-led seminars, hands-on workshops, and individualized coaching, students will refine their research design, align methodological choices with research questions, and develop practical plans for data collection and analysis. The residency also incorporates flexible, program-specific content that responds to the evolving needs of the cohort and current issues in education. Topics may include ethical considerations in research, culturally responsive methodologies, data visualization, and the use of digital tools in educational research. Students will engage in collaborative problem-solving, peer feedback, and reflective inquiry to strengthen their research capacity and scholarly voice. By the end of the residency, students will have a clearly articulated methodology chapter draft, a detailed data collection plan, and a foundational understanding of how to approach data analysis aligned with their research design.
