Catalog description

Multicultural Diversity in Education prepares educational leaders to foster inclusive, equitable, and culturally responsive environments across K-12 schools, higher education institutions, and corporate or organizational learning settings. This course explores the intersections of culture, identity, and privilege in education, and equips students with the tools to recognize and address systemic inequities and implicit bias. Through critical reflection, case studies, and applied research, students will examine the historical and contemporary contexts of multicultural education and develop strategies to lead with cultural competence. Emphasis is placed on creating learning environments that affirm diverse identities, promote social justice, and support the success of all learners.
