Through a critical lens, this course focuses on the diversity of American schools and the society for which they exist. School community and culture are addressed as well as student identity and backgrounds. Political, cultural, and economic conditions of the school experience, culturally relevant teaching practices, and a host of other social and cultural topics are covered in this course.
