Catalog description

This course offers a hands-on exploration of how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be applied to solve real-world problems, using a Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) perspective. Over the course of the term, students will progress from conceptualizing ideas to developing functional prototypes that address specific client needs. Through lectures, group discussions, presentations, and interaction design activities, students will gain experience in conducting interviews, collecting and utilizing data, assessing features, and moving from low-fidelity (paper drafts) to high-fidelity (computer-based) prototypes. Usability testing will also be a key focus, ensuring that the AI solutions developed are efficient, user-friendly, and aligned with client requirements. Prerequisite: CSC 14400 with a C or better.
