Catalog description
This course explores how artificial intelligence can be designed and applied to serve people first-enhancing usability, accessibility, and ethical impact across everyday contexts. Students will investigate how AI shapes experiences in areas such as communication, design, healthcare, and social innovation, learning how to identify real-world problems that can benefit from human-centered AI solutions. Through hands-on projects and case studies, students will practice evaluating and improving existing AI systems, designing prototypes, and presenting thoughtful, user-focused solutions. The emphasis is on understanding how AI interacts with human behavior, culture, and values rather than on complex coding or technical development. Prerequisite: ENGL 15000 .
