GE-Human Culture: Arts This course presents a survey of the major artistic developments in European art from the beginning of the eighteenth century to the eve of the French Revolution. Students will investigate major historical, philosophical, and social movements that impacted artistic production during this period. They will also become familiar with major artists and works fundamental to the development of Rococo and Neo-Classical art. Finally, this class will also examine questions of gender, sexuality, and race in eighteenth-century European society, with a critical consideration of the developments of Eurocentrism and colonization on the global stage. Prerequisite: ARTH 22300 ; ARTH 22500 .
