Internship: LU Tax Clinic-VITA Preparer

Catalog description

This course provides students with the opportunity to complete the IRS VITA/TCE certification through Link & Learn training. Once certified, students will be provided the opportunity to complete interview/intake with the community members, review those members’ tax documents, prepare the individual tax return Form 1040 (including applicable schedules), prepare the relevant state tax return, coordinate the return for review, and obtain consent to e-file from the community members. Grading Method: This course is graded on a Pass/Fail basis. Repeatable: May be repeated for a maximum of 6 credit hours. Prerequisite: ACCT 21010 .
