Catalog description

This course is designed to expose students to the identification and analysis of all types of risks a public or private organization encounters in its conduction of business and an individual is exposed to in his/her life cycle. The overall assumption is that risks can be managed if they are identified prior to a loss, and insurance is an important available tool for that purpose. Substantial discussion of the myriad of potential losses incurred by businesses and individuals, together with the general risk management process and the alternative risk management tools and methods, including loss control, risk retention, and risk transfer are studied. Prerequisites: ECO 2003, BES 1014, or MAT 1014
