Catalog description
This course explores the critical role of nutrition in optimizing exercise performance and promoting overall health across the lifespan. Students will investigate how nutritional needs evolve from infancy to older adulthood, emphasizing the specific dietary requirements for physical activity and athletic performance. Topics include macronutrients, micronutrients, hydration, nutritional strategies for various exercise modalities, and the impact of nutrition on recovery and health. Students will also gain an understanding of the physiological roles of various vitamins and minerals, enabling them to comprehend how these nutrients contribute to optimal lifetime physical fitness.
