Catalog description

This practicum course introduces the student to the diverse nature of professional nursing practice. Students learn concepts and theories basic to the art and science of nursing. Focus will be given to the beginning application of fundamental nursing concepts including: nursing process, therapeutic communication, the teaching/learning process, characteristics of professional behavior, common mechanisms of disease processes, and general nursing interventions to treat frequently occurring health problems.
