Catalog description

This course provides an overview of the basic nutrients required by the body for optimal health and wellness. Students learn how the scientific method of inquiry is used in nutritional science and the health fields. In addition, the application of nutritional concepts to care for patients is studied. Conditions that are amenable to modification by diet therapy and other nursing and medical interventions are explored.
