Catalog description

This course is designed to prepare students for the second practical remedial college reading course by introducing study, comprehension, and retention skills. Topics covered are:enhancing and utilizing college level vocabulary, concentration and memory building techniques, understanding the main ideas in persuasive and informative writings, and summarizing and paraphrasing. This course carries five credits of institutional credit, and grade of "C" or better is required to pass the course.
