Catalog description

Public and environmental health is an interdisciplinary field that focuses on promoting and protecting the health and well-being of individuals, communities, and populations by identifying and controlling environmental and occupational factors contributing to disease and injury. The course gives the student a fundamental understanding of the impact and workings of the United States Public Health System on the federal, state, local, and private levels. The course will review essential and current Healthy People Initiatives (HPI).
