Critical Think for Common Good

Catalog description

Critical Thinking for The Common Good equips students to evaluate reasoning found in popular media and academic discourses.  In a hyper-opinionated society, often clouded by misinformation and distortion of facts, this course presents tools that allow students to critically analyze assumptions, biases, reasons, and sources of evidence. They will evaluate their own reasoning and gain insight into the logic and values of people with whom they disagree. Students will develop their capacity to recognize complexity, engage in constructive dialogue, and find solutions to our common challenges.
