General Biology II

Catalog description

This course is a continuation of BIO 111 and is designed to introduce students in bioscience fields to the fundamental concepts of evolutionary theory and organismal biology. The course aims to foster an appreciation for the pivotal role that evolutionary science and biodiversity play in modern health and environmental sciences. Throughout the course, students will explore the key contributions made by notable scientists in the development of evolutionary theory. Additionally, the course will delve into the characteristics and distinctions of the major taxonomic groups, including bacteria, archaea, protists, plants, fungi, and animals.
