Guitar Literature

Catalog description

This course will survey guitar and lute literature from the Renaissance to the present, including solo works, chamber music, and concerti. The course will include music written for lute and guitar as well as transcriptions for guitar of music written for other instruments. Activities used to facilitate learning will include listening to recordings and music performances, score study, lectures, discussion, and selected readings. Registration Restrictions: Permission of instructor
