Principles of song writing, including elements of writing melody; melodic structure; lyric form-understanding verse/chorus /bridge structures; melodic style; lyric style - gospel to classical, southern gospel to praise and worship and country to rock 'n roll; and co-writing lyrics with other musicians. Students are required to participate in the Songwriter's Showcase presented by the Center for Worship each semester. (Formerly WMUS 332) Registration Restrictions: Admission to program and permission of instructor
