Political Theology and Hermeneutics

Catalog description

This course introduces students to the major methodological and hermeneutical considerations involved in the interpretation of political texts. It will especially explore the political interpretation of the Bible as this developed during the early modern and modern periods. In addition, it will explore a number of basic theological principles which underlie the formation and development of complex political structures and organizations.
