Catalog description

This course offers instruction in the fundamentals of interpreting film as an artful medium with emphasis on narrative structure, image composition, mise-en-scene, sound, cinematography, and editing. Students will apply this filmic language to better discern a film's literary meaning, including its theme, characterization, scene, setting, point of view, and dialogue through written critical analyses.
