Catalog description

This experiential fellowship course, offered in partnership with the Jack Brewer Foundation, provides select Criminal Justice students with the opportunity to engage in advanced research and fieldwork focused on faith-based reentry programs for incarcerated individuals. Students will conduct statistical analyses comparing the effectiveness of Christian rehabilitation initiatives with secular counterparts, emphasizing outcomes related to recidivism, family reunification, and community reintegration. Through prison visits, field missions, and direct interaction with inmates in Florida, students will gain firsthand insights into the challenges and opportunities of reentry. The course emphasizes biblical justice principles and their application to criminal justice reform, equipping students to develop data-informed policy recommendations that support family restoration and societal transformation. Completion of the fellowship fulfills Christian/Community Service (CSER) requirements and contributes to Liberty University’s mission of cultivating Christ-centered leaders who impact the world through faith and service.
