Emphasis is placed on: 1) membrane physiology, including lipid biosynthesis, membrane transport, excitable membranes, electron transport and oxidative phosphorylation, and photosynthesis; and 2) the flow of biological information, including nucleotide biosynthesis, DNA replication and repair, transcription, and translation.
