Catalog description

This course is a study of the Middle Eastern world designed to strengthen cultural knowledge and awareness. It will introduce students to elements that contributed to the complex culture of the Arabic world, such as art, culture, demographics, economics, education, government, history, kinship, literature, music, politics, religion, and social mores. Emphasis will be placed on issues salient to cross-cultural interaction and communication. This course is taught in English and does not require knowledge of Arabic.
