INTRODUCTION TO SOCIAL WORK AND SOCIAL WELFARE

Catalog description

The focus of this course is to help social work and non-social work majors gain an understanding of the professional foundation of social work. Students will be introduced to the knowledge, skills, and ethics involved in the generalist social work practice. Attention is given to the many settings and roles in which social workers work with diverse client groups whom social workers service. Volunteer service learning project is required. This course is required for all social work majors. This course may include DEI-related content. If you are taking this class as a program or graduation requirement, you may work with your advisor to find an alternative class.
