Catalog description

This combined theory and clinical course explores the theoretical and conceptual foundations of population health across the healthcare delivery continuum, from public health prevention to disease management of populations. Concepts including community assessment, population-focused practice, epidemiology, health education/ promotion, health equity, interprofessional practice, and advocacy, are applied in course instruction, discussions, journaling, case studies, and in practicum and service-learning experiences. Pre-requisite: Acceptance to BSN program or permission of the instructor. Vaccination or verification of immunity may be required.
