Catalog description

This course examines issues surrounding gender, sex, and sexuality from a cross-cultural perspective. The focus is on learning to think about topics of gender and sexuality holistically as they are embedded in the cultural systems of different societies and as they relate to other aspects of a given society, including the contemporary United States. In particular, students learn to analyze the cultural and social constructions of gender in different societies and in the US at different times. Pre-requisite: ENGL-102 or ENGL-109 , and a total of 24 credit hours in the General Education Core or instructor permission. This course may include DEI-related content.
