Catalog description

Survey of advanced techniques of literary analysis. Explores the historical context and uses of literary criticism along with the development of major modern schools and theoretical approaches ranging from formalism and New Criticism to current trends in psychological criticism, cultural studies, gender studies, New Historicism, ecocriticism, and related debates. Writing integrated. Pre-requisite: ENGL-102 or ENGL-109 . This course may include DEI-related content. If you are taking this class as a program or graduation requirement, you may work with your advisor to find an alternative class.
