Catalog description

Emphasizes the acquisition of knowledge appropriate for teachers/coaches and fitness/rehabilitation personnel such that they may develop lifelong practices as knowledgeable professionals. The purpose of this course is to aid the student in the planning, implementation, and assessment of effective instructional strategies in scholastic, athletic, and fitness/rehabilitation settings. Specifically, the course explores the essential components of proper cardiovascular and resistance exercise training techniques, effective movement demonstration techniques, safety issues, and methods of proper warm-up and cool-down. <BR>Prerequisite: None. <BR>(PCS 1.1, 2 credit hours, 2 hours lecture, 0 hours lab)
