Catalog description
Prepares students with the academic and professional skills required to pass the ParaPro Assessment and pursue employment as a certified paraprofessional (teacher's aide) in Illinois. Emphasizes reading, writing, and math skills; understanding of child development and classroom roles; and test-taking strategies aligned with ETS ParaPro objectives. Students will complete 16 hours of school-based field experience/observation at an approved partner site during the session; hours are arranged with the instructor and documented via time logs and site verification.
