Catalog description

Studies select social problems including consideration of proposed lines of action in dealing with them. Problem areas include population, the affluent society, crime and justice, poverty, unemployment, health and mental disorders, automation, the aging ethnic and race relations, threats to the environment, the role of the United States in relationship to third world countries, war and the future of American society. <BR>Prerequisite: None. <BR>(PCS 1.1, 3 credit hours: 3 hours lecture, 0 hours lab)
