Catalog description

Emphasizes the civil and criminal litigation process and alternative dispute resolution. Each stage of a lawsuit including drafting petitions, pleadings, written discovery, depositions, trials, and appeals is discussed. Targets specific phases of a lawsuit including the work product rule, summary judgment practice, jury instructions, and appellate practice. Federal, Illinois, and Missouri rules and their implications will be discussed. <BR>Prerequisite: None. <BR>(PCS 1.2, 3 credit hours; 3 hours lecture, 0 hours lab)
