Catalog description

Introduces methods of legal research and writing. Students will become familiar with and be able to locate and effectively use the primary and secondary sources of law including statutes, reporters, digests, and encyclopedias. Computerized research, including LexisNexis, will be introduced as well as proper citation forms. Students will learn skills necessary to create basic legal research strategies, perform necessary research, and communicate their findings in a proper written format. <BR>Prerequisite: C or better in ENGL 131, PLGL 130, and PLGL 135. <BR>(PCS 1.2, 3 credit hours; 3 hours lecture, 0 hours lab)
