Intro Philosophy

Catalog description

Examines the fundamental questions of philosophy and introduces the major ideas and philosophers of the Western tradition. The basic questions include those concerned with the nature of reality, the nature of knowledge, the nature of God and religious experience, and the nature of morality and values. The study of philosophy can be considered a pursuit of self-knowledge and, to this end, a number of personally relevant issues are examined such as death, the meaning of life, personal identity, and personal values. <BR>(PCS 1.1, 3 credit hours: 3 hours lecture, 0 hours lab)
