Catalog description
Introduces International Classification of Diseases, 10th revision (ICD-10), Current Procedural Terminology (CPT-4), and Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) medical coding. Provides instruction in abstracting information from medical reports and records. Includes coding guidelines to optimize physician payment. <BR>Prerequisite: C or better in MEDA 120 or concurrent enrollment. <BR>(PCS 1.2, 3 credit hours: 2 hour lecture, 2 hours lab)
