Offers preliminary framework for pre-service criminal justice students. Views American penal justice from the perspective of the total crime problem. Criminal justice originates with the police who are charged with the responsibility of direct enforcement. Involves the courts; and leads to corrections. Prerequisite(s): None. (PCS 1.2, 3 credit hours - 3 hours lecture, 0 hours lab)
