Catalog description
Students practice to develop ease speaking with other adults in positions of peers, supervisors and to maintain business relationships with employers, possible employers, customers, service personnel. Principles of human behavior will be role-played and discussed regarding communication barriers within and between people; communication breakdown, communication enhancement, handling feelings that may interfere with appropriate or accurate communication. General conversation abilities will be developed for more interaction including listening, speaking, responding to questions, asking questions related to subject at hand. Effective enjoyment of conversation relating to the entire community college environment is the goal. Prerequisite: Concurrent enrollment in Self Advocacy is required.
