Catalog description
Presents the fundamentals of aerodynamics, physics of flight, aircraft control surfaces and aircraft instrumentation. Introduces FAA regulations relating to aircraft maintenance and documentation records required to safely update and maintain aircraft systems. Reviews basic electrical and electronics knowledge as it relates to aircraft. Topics include aircraft structures, operation of gyroscopic instruments, operation of pitot/static instruments, DC circuits in aircraft, AC circuits in aircraft, and the theory of operation for navigational instruments. Prerequisite: ELEC 133 (PCS 1.2, 2.5 credit hours, 2 hours lecture, 1 hours lab)
