Catalog description

The second part of the introductory Japanese course. Students completing the course demonstrate Novice Mid/High level of proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and listening comprehension. In addition to language skills, students explore accepted cultural practices, patterns of behavior and communication, cultural products, and popular beliefs, values, attitudes in Japan within the scope of themes covered during the semester. Not open for students with more than 1 year of high-school/college Japanese or native speakers of Japanese.
