This course provides an exploration of Islamic mysticism, commonly referred to as Sufism, through its spiritual and philosophical aspects. We will examine various manifestations and understandings of Sufi themes such as love, knowledge, intoxication, and bewilderment -- focusing on how these mystical themes intertwine with philosophical questions about knowing and being from medieval to contemporary periods
