This course introduces major currents in Latin American thought, examining philosophical, political, and cultural reflections produced in the region (from the sixteenth century to the present). It explores debates about the nature and identity of Latin American philosophy while engaging texts by thinkers working across philosophy, social theory, and the humanities. Topics may include colonialism, nation formation, modernity, social justice, feminism, and human agency, making the course relevant to students in philosophy, Latin American studies, history, and the social sciences.
