Catalog description

This course is designed to teach students fundamental skills necessary for understanding statistics as a tool in the field of criminal justice, with an emphasis on quantitative methods and analysis. Students will learn the basics of organizing and describing data (descriptive statistics) and making predictions about populations from smaller samples of data (inferential statistics). Students will learn to critically evaluate data sets while learning about the role of data analysis in all areas of the criminal justice field. This course builds off of students’ initial Research Methods course to learn to analyze data.
